The Last? Fried Chicken Spot I'll Ever Visit

Richmond, VA

I love fried chicken. When I say love, I mean love, love. Fried chicken is my favorite food at the moment for a while and it won't be going anywhere soon. My love for fried chicken started when I was a child. My father owned Popeye's so after school, I would eat fried chicken. My love for fried chicken kind of died down but now, it's back and there's no turning back. In CA, there's not that many special fried chicken establishments so maybe that's why I became disinterested in fried chicken very quickly.

I'm not a fan of KFC or Church's. Apart from these three in my area, there's no other fried chicken places that I would visit. As you can see from my bio, I'm a fan of franchises/chains and when I went to Richmond, VA a few months ago, I knew I had to stop by Lee's. I read about Lee's online and the name got me interested. Their menu looks good and what got me excited was the fact that they brine their chicken in honey. I never heard of that before.

*heart eyes*

It was nothing like I tasted before. It doesn't compare to the other chicken establishments I've had in the past. KFC and Popeyes has their own seasonings and Church's taste like nothing but Lee's is like a hybrid between the two. It's simple and basic but filled with lots of flavor. Their honey is also good with the biscuit. The green beans are alright. However, I especially enjoyed their mashed potatoes because it tasted like that of KFC and KFC's mashed potatoes are good (even though they're fake).

I've been to other establishments like Golden Chick, Bush's, and Chicken Express and they're pretty good too but Lee's is really good. I think I've visited all of the chicken establishments that I want to visit but for now, Lee's is my favorite.
