Today's post is something new - showing my food adventures. I usually save my foodventures for my Instagram but I decided to share a snippet on my blog. If you know me, I love fried chicken. It holds a special place in my heart and if it's the right fried chicken, it can put me in a good mood if I'm not feeling good that day.

For today's post, I decided to share two of my favorite places to get fried chicken - Howlin' Rays and Raising Cane's. The first photo features The Sando from Howlin' Ray's. If you don't know what Howlin' Ray's is, it's a small place in Chinatown in Los Angeles that serves Nashville Hot Chicken. If I'm correct, I think it's the first place that featured Nashville Hot Chicken in LA so it was bound to be special. Howlin' has grown in popularity really quickly and has developed a huge fan base, including myself. The first time I went there, I waited almost 2 hours and got The Sando but no spicy as I can't handle spice and wasn't sure about the mild. It didn't leave a good impression on me so I wanted to order it again and chose the mild to taste the sandwich with full flavor.

I'm a sucker for fried chicken sandwiches and would jump at the opportunity to try them and see which is the best. I've tried Free Range and Birdie's but after trying The Sando in mild, I can safely say it's the best fried chicken sandwich I've had. I used to love Free Range but this one takes the cake. The buns are so soft, the mild flavor is perfect, and the coleslaw adds a bit of coolness and crunch.

Always double toast

Now, let's turn our attention to Raising Cane's. I first tried Raising Cane's in Las Vegas on a whim. I saw a restaurant that had a nice logo and decided to go in. I am not a huge fan of chicken strips but these looked good so I was excited to try them. They are so juicy and light. They go really well with the sauce; the fries and texas toast helps too. Their sweet tea is great with the meal as well. I haven't tried their sandwich but I would like to try it one day.

There's not much to say about Raising Cane's since their menu and system are so simple. They only sell chicken fingers and have one sauce. Unlike Chick fil A for example, they have multiple sauces versus one sauce. Unlike other fried chicken places, Raising Cane's does not have any flavors - only one flavor. They keep it very simple and basic but it's efficient and makes everything run really smoothly. It adds to the mystique about Raising Cane's but let's face it, we're all here for the cute dog and delicious sweet tea.

If I have to pick between these two (which are on the top of my list for fried chicken), it would have to be Howlin' Rays. I can't get enough of the comeback sauce and the mild flavor. I also forgot to mention that they have the best peach tea around. I'll always wait for my chicken and am always happy to return and eat!
